OUR STORY

Italian Owned.

West Texas Proud.

Carmine Scarcelli was born in Italy, and moved to Midland in 1984 to work for the Italian restaurant Bella Roma. Soon after moving to Texas, Carmine met his wife Karen, and by the spring of 1988, he was the owner of Venezia Restaurant. Karen and Carmine sought to bring an authentic charm to the Permian Basin. Venezia Restaurant specializes in Northern Italian cuisine, and proudly features fresh Seafood, Steak, a variety of Cocktails for any season, and an award-winning wine selection of more than 500 labels, eager to be paired with any meal!

Featured as one of Midland's finest dining experiences, Venezia Restaurant is a premiere event venue for the region, offering both small private rooms for intimate gatherings to grandiose indoor and outdoor spaces which can seat up to 300 guests! With enormous seafood platters and custom wine pairings, your party will experience a luxurious evening, sure to whisk them from the Permian Basin straight to a festive celebration on the Italian countryside! Karen and Carmine lovingly refer to Venezia as their "Italian Home", and they invite you to visit for dinner or your next special occasion.

The location went through many changes before becoming part of the Scarcelli family, and under Carmine's direction, the Venezia’s experience continues to evolve. Originally designed by architect Frank Welch as a landscape nursery, Los Patios, the Scarcelli family transformed the building into the restaurant it is today. Over the years, Carmine has hand-crafted over a dozen of the dining room tables, along with the rustic cedar-paneled ceilings and wine cabinets throughout the restaurant.

If you desire great authentic Italian cuisine and a beautiful atmosphere, look no further than Midland’s own Venezia Restaurant!
